Canadian violinist Leila Josefowicz played this piece with tremendous flair and lyrical style, and the kind of conviction that comes from having learnt a different new concerto from memory. This young virtuoso has become one of the most vigorous advocates of new large works for violin; four years ago, she rocked RTH with a terrific performance of John Adams’s Dharma at Big Sur.
